Sullivan’s Island
Across Breach Inlet from Isle of Palms, abutting the Charleston harbor, Sullivan's Island is a 3.3-mile barrier island. This pristine beach town is known for its small community, little commercial development (besides a handful of delicious restaurants), and beautiful organic beach accesses. A fun fact about the island is that Edgar Allen Poe was stationed at Fort Moultrie from 1827 to 1828 and is the inspiration for one of the top restaurants in the area, Poe's Tavern.
