Terry is a Charleston native. He attended First Baptist Church School in downtown Charleston and graduated from the College of Charleston in 1977 with a degree in Business Administration. He retired from the Medical University of South Carolina in 2020.
After nearly fifteen years in banking and finance, Terry joined the Office of Development at the Medical University of South Carolina in 1994. In this position, he oversaw all fundraising activities for the College of Medicine and the University’s clinical divisions. Working closely with University leadership, Terry led a dynamic team of fundraising professionals who collectively raised hundreds of millions of dollars of philanthropy in support of the College and University’s clinical, research, and education missions.
Terry and his wife, Linda (also a Charleston native), enjoy spending time with their family (especially their grandchildren), traveling, and playing golf.
